Shimano Technium Rods are engineered to fit the unique requirements of West Coast anglers and their regionally specific techniques. The Technium series rods are built on high strength to weight ratio blanks constructed of a glass core wrapped in graphite carbon. Models in this series vary in handle construction, action, and components to be most conducive to specific West Coast techniques including mooching and sturgeon fishing.
Legacy Sturgeon and bar rods are built with virtually indestructible blank construction and are designed to cast heavy weights into strong currents. The softer tip allows the rod to absorb the current ebb and won’t cause the weight to be lifted off bottom. The benefit is the anglers bait remains in the strike zone without having to reel in and reset lines.
